COmpetition Outline

  • 5.1) Kids (8-12) - 5 Minutes

    5.2) Teens & Adults (13+) - 10 Minutes

    5.3) Clock DOES NOT stop due to out of bounds! Clock will only stop for blood time, submission, or time expiration.

    5.4) Blood time 5 minutes total. Ref will assess when clock should be stopped and action should resume. 

  • Kid & Teen Matches

    6.1) Banned Techniques: Leg locks of any kind, flying submissions, jumping guard, slams/spikes of any kind.

    Adult Matches

    6.2) All submissions are legal unless an agreed upon ruleset is made prior to the match. Flying scissor and jumping guard are legal

    6.3) Slams are legal.

    6.4 No spiking on neck or head.

    6.5) Decisions will be chosen by the ref who will serve as the judge for super fights. Tournament decisions will go to a 3 judge panel that will decide based on Rule 6.8.

    6.6) Non-engagement whether in neutral or while standing against a seated opponent will result in a penalty. Non-engagement can be defined as an athlete who retreats continuously without significant attempts to advance positions.

    6.7) The first penalty will result in warning. Athlete will receive a yellow card on second and 3rd warning. Yellow cards result in a loss unless athlete gets a submission in regulation. A 4th warning would result in DQ.

    6.8) Draws will result in a ref decision based dangerous submission attempts from any position, positional control, and match pace.

    6.9) A match is finished when an opponent physically or verbally submits, time expires, or an athlete is DQ’d. Screaming during a submission will also result in a “verbal submission”. 

  • 7.1) Ref will do their best to recreate the scenario. Due to the continuously running clock, stalling by either opponent to prevent re-engagement will result in warning.

    7.2) Ref will state, “Stop!”. They will then remind athletes the clock is still running. They will indicate athletes to “recreate the position”, and assist in recreating the position. Finally, the ref will look to coaches for approval. IF approved, Ref will state, “Ready. Go!”. If not, one attempt to recreate will happen and then will go on ref discretion.

    7.3) Any blatant stalling to recreate the position can result in a warning or penalty. The Referee will recreate the position the best he can, and say, “Ready. Go!”

Weigh-ins & General

  • 2.1) Athletes’ finger and toe nails should be trimmed and short.

    2.2) Athletes will be disqualified if they are wearing hair dye or makeup that stains their opponent’s Gi or the competition mats.

    2.3) Athletes presenting skin lesions or any other skin condition will be seen by the tournament medical staff. Under any circumstances, the medical staff will make the final determination if an athlete can compete or not.

  • 3.1) Day before virtual weigh-ins from 7-9pm or Day of weigh-in between 1:30pm - 2:30pm for Prelims and between 3:30pm-5:30pm for main card.

    3.2) There will be a 1 pound allowance.

    3.3) Athlete must show time in their video, their full body, and then the weight on the scale. Please refer to the video sent to all competitors upon bout agreement.

    3.4a) If you miss weight, your opponent will have the option of taking the match or not. Failure to make weight will result in penalty. Penalty for missing weight is $20 per pound to be paid to your opponent. It is your responsibility to make weight or to pay up if you don't make weight.

    3.4b) If both parties agree to a catchweight or a weight difference, then both parties are responsible for reaching out to the promoters and stating such changes.

  • 4.1) Use of any foot gear, head gear, hair pins, jewelry, cups (genital protectors) or any other protector fashioned of hard material that may cause harm to an opponent or the athlete him/herself is forbidden.Also forbidden is the use of head wear – be it bandages, hoods or an elastic cap.

Format

  • 10.1) Single Elimination with consolation match for 3rd and 4th place.

    5:00pm – Main Card
